favorite fellows day

the ones still here, and the ones we carry with us.

favorite fellows day

for a long time, father's day was hard for me.

when my dad passed away many years ago, the day lost some of its shine. for a while i dreaded it. every commercial. every father's day sale. every reminder that everyone else seemed to be celebrating while i was missing someone.

but if i'm honest, it wasn't just about losing my dad. over the years i've lost a few really special fellows. friends who felt like family. people who helped shape who i am. people i still think about often.

and if you've ever lost someone important to you, you know certain days have a way of bringing them right back to the front of your mind. if you've lost a dad, a brother, a husband, a son, a mentor, or a friend, you probably know exactly what i mean.

but time has a funny way of helping. not fixing. not replacing. just helping.

one day you catch yourself telling a story about them and laughing. one day you hear yourself repeating something they used to say. one day you realize they're still showing up in your life all the time. just differently.

a warm, candid memory

you can never look too good.

my dad was full of advice. he was a mentor to so many people and one of the most encouraging humans i've ever known. he believed in showing up for people. he believed in seeing the best in people. he believed in reminding people of their own potential.

and one thing he said all the time was:

"you can never look too good."sandy, tracy's dad

i loved that. and no, he didn't mean expensive clothes or fancy things. he meant take care of yourself. show up for yourself. have some pride in who you are. look like you care about yourself, because you should.

he believed that when you feel good about yourself, you carry yourself differently. you show up differently. you have more confidence. and confidence is attractive. always.

taking care of yourself is sexy

favorite fellows day

somewhere over the years father's day changed for me. it stopped being only about the dad i lost and became about all of the amazing fellows who have touched my life. the ones still here. and the ones i carry with me every day.

my husband. my brothers. my nephews. my friends.

the guys who show up.
the guys who help.
the guys who make me laugh.
the guys who somehow always know how to fix things.
the guys who answer the phone.
the guys who make life a little easier and a lot more fun.

so these days i kind of think of it as favorite fellows day.

and honestly, i think that's what my dad would have wanted. not for me to spend the day being sad that he's gone. but to appreciate the people around me. to tell them i love them while i can. to celebrate the good guys.

the ones who shaped us.
the ones who supported us.
the ones who believed in us.
the ones who are still making a difference in our lives every day.

the good guys in our lives

why we brought fellow back

which is actually a big part of why we brought fellow back. fellow first launched more than 15 years ago. long before men's grooming became the giant industry it is today.

back then we just wanted to make good products for good guys. clean ingredients. great scents. simple routines. a little humor. a little maintenance. a lot less junk.

over the years people kept asking about it. and honestly, i missed it too. so this year felt like the perfect time to bring it back.

same spirit. better formulas. a few new additions. and a whole lot of nostalgia.

back from the past

clean hippy

the scent was actually the easiest decision. because it's the scent i've loved for decades. it's the blend i wore almost every day in my twenties.

back then i used to call it clean hippy.

patchouli. lemon verbena. benzoin.

earthy enough to feel grounded. fresh enough to feel clean. clean but manly. fresh but grounded. sexy without trying too hard.

and apparently pretty memorable, because people asked me about it all the time. so when fellow came back, there was never really another option. it had to be this one.

→ smell it for yourself
