a woman wrote and asked me to explain exactly what to do. so here it is, start to finish.

ready to get serious about crepey skin?
tracy feldstein6 min read august 4, 2026

a woman recently sent me this:

ok tracy, i am ready to get serious about dealing with my crepey skin. explain exactly how i use the essential routine and what i need to do.

i loved the way she asked.

she was not looking for another trendy ingredient. she was not asking me for twelve more products.
she was ready to understand what to do and actually do it.

that is the part that matters.

most women believe getting serious means finding something stronger. or newer. or more expensive.

but when you keep changing products, you never give yourself enough time to learn what good care can actually do.

you start.
you stop.
you replace it.
you forget how you were using it.
then another product makes another promise, and you start all over again.

no confusion. no insecurity. support.
that is what i want for you.

so let me make this simple. i am not going to point you at one product. i am going to walk you through the whole routine, in order.

the essential routine - uplift

the routine i point people to

the essential routine - uplift

the complete 3-step bodycare ritual for skin that needs moisture, softness, and a little bright energy. uplift pairs grapefruit with a hint of vanilla for a light, happy...

$148.00

the whole routine, at a glance

  • scrub. two or three times a week. in the shower.
  • oil. every day. on wet skin, before you towel off.
  • butter. every night and whenever you need it. on dry skin.

you will find the rhythm that works best for you.

the three things your skin needs from you

the essential routine is scrub, oil, and butter. each step has its own job.

most people assume the scrub is the one doing the heavy lifting. it isn't. the oil and the butter are the daily work. the scrub just clears the way for them, two or three times a week.

getting serious about your skin does not mean doing something extreme. it means staying with the care long enough to let it work.

step one: scrub, two or three times a week

use your body scrub in the shower two or three times each week. massage it over your skin. take your time through the areas where you notice roughness, dryness, or crepey texture.

the massage wakes the skin up and gets circulation moving. the scrub smooths away the built-up dead skin sitting on the surface.

that matters because you want the oil and butter caring for your skin, not sitting on top of layers that are ready to come off.

then rinse. your skin should feel smooth and nourished, not stripped.

the scrub, in short

  • how often. two or three times a week, not daily.
  • where it lives. in the shower.
  • its job. preparation. it clears the way for everything after it.

step two: oil, every day

this one is my non-negotiable.

keep the oil in your shower. when you finish showering, turn the water off. do not towel off yet.

while your skin is still wet, apply the oil from your neck all the way down to your toes. the water left on your skin and the oil work together. massage it in.

you do not need to pour half the bottle over yourself. use enough to move easily across wet skin, then add a little more anywhere that still feels like it needs it.

daily means daily. not only when your skin looks dry. not only when you happen to remember the bottle sitting in the cabinet. every shower is your cue.

the technique, in four moves

  1. turn the water off.
  2. stay wet. no towel yet.
  3. oil from neck to toes, massaged in.
  4. put on your towel or robe. brush your hair, brush your teeth, moisturize your face. by the time you are done, the oil has absorbed.

oil goes on wet skin.
butter goes on dry skin.

step three: butter, every night

oil goes on wet skin. butter goes on dry skin. i use butter every night.

right now, through the summer, the essential routine comes with one daily butter stick and one intensive butter stick instead of the tub butter. the tub comes back when the weather cools.

we paused shipping it because real butter can melt and get a little wonky travelling through summer heat. i was not willing to change the formula just to make it behave more like a shelf-stable lotion.

and honestly, i have fallen completely in love with the sticks.

i leave one by the sink. at the end of the day i use it on my hands, neck, chest, and face. i use it again in the morning when my skin wants it. the other one stays with me or near my bed.

when i look down and notice dry hands or dry legs, i do not have to wait until the next shower. i can swipe it on right then. no scooping. no butter all over my hands. one swipe, and that dry-looking area is cared for.

two sticks, two jobs

  • daily. unscented. everyday care, anywhere, any time you notice.
  • intensive. a light bergamot scent. extra support for the places that ask for more: heels, elbows, knees, hands, neck and chest.

make the routine easier to reach

this is one of the most important parts, and it has nothing to do with the products themselves.

do not put everything in a beautiful cabinet and forget about it.

where everything actually lives

  • scrub, in the shower.
  • oil, in the shower.
  • one stick, by the sink.
  • the other stick, by your bed, in your bag, or wherever you tend to notice your skin.

do not let them stockpile. use them. your skin will respond to consistent care.

the products do not work unless you use them.

which intention should you choose

for most women, i recommend starting with uplift. it has been our number one seller for years. the scent is a very light, mellow grapefruit. fresh without being loud, and a beautiful introduction to the whole method.

if you already know you prefer body care with no added scent at all, choose clarity instead. same base, same nourishment, nothing added.

your intention does not change how the product works. it changes the experience.

why i recommended the 90-day plan

the woman who wrote to me was ready to get serious. after i explained the routine, she wrote back:

thank you for all the information, i really appreciate it. just signed up for 3 months. can't wait to get started.

the 90-day plan is the best price. but more importantly, it keeps the products coming before you run out.

when you are using the scrub two or three times a week, the oil every day, and the butter consistently, you should be using what arrives each month.

you are not collecting products. you are caring for your skin.

our best value

start the 90-day plan

if three months feels like a lot right now, the 30-day plan is the same routine, one month at a time. → see the 30-day plan

and if you would rather try the three steps in small sizes first, start there. forty-four dollars, no plan, no pressure. → see the uplift mini trio

how you will know it is working

i am not going to promise your skin will change on one exact day. every body is different.

instead, pay attention.

what to notice

  • how your skin feels right after you shower.
  • which areas drink in the oil quickly.
  • where you still reach for extra butter.
  • whether the rough or dry places ask for your attention less often.

we are our worst critics. sometimes we do not see a change in ourselves until someone else asks, what are you doing, your skin looks amazing.

that is when we become inspired devotees. we finally start seeing what our consistent choices have been building.

you are not collecting products.
you are caring for your skin.

start with your next shower

you do not need to wait for monday. you do not need a complicated plan.

put your scrub and oil in the shower. put your butter where you will reach for it tonight. then begin.

that is the whole thing

  • scrub, two or three times a week.
  • oil, every day, on wet skin.
  • butter, every night, on dry skin.

getting serious about your skin does not mean doing something extreme. it means staying with the care long enough to let it work.
