summer skin needs more support, not less. here's why.

summer skin needs more support, not less. here's why.

every year around this time, i start hearing the same thing from clients and customers.

"my skin just feels… off."

drier. tighter. a little rougher than it was a few weeks ago.

and the first thought that always comes is: is my skin getting worse?

here's what i want you to hear — as someone who has spent over 30 years with my hands on bodies, in massage rooms, in coaching sessions, at retreats:

nothing is wrong with your skin.

it's living tissue. and living tissue responds to its environment. right now, it's responding to summer — and it's asking you to respond back.

the moment you understand that, everything shifts.

and when my skin needs that extra support — especially on rough or crepey areas — the body oil is the thing i reach for first. on damp skin, right after the shower. it sinks in fast, feeds the skin at its most open, and sets everything else up to work better.

summer changes more than people realize.

more sun exposure. more chlorine. more salt water. more heat. more skin exposed.

and all of that affects how your skin behaves — in ways most people don't expect.

in summer, most people keep supporting their skin exactly the same way they did in january. same products, same routine, same amount of everything. that's usually where things start feeling different.

this is also why texture can suddenly feel more noticeable. arms. thighs. knees. rough patches. crepey areas.

not because something suddenly appeared overnight. but because skin that's depleted loses some of its cushion and resilience. your skin isn't failing you. it's asking for more.

summer skin often needs more support, not less.

especially after:

  • pool days and beach days
  • sun exposure and heat
  • shaving
  • travel

your skin is constantly working harder than you think.

grapefruit essential oil — one of the key ingredients in the uplift line — is antimicrobial and helps clear congested skin. it also invigorates circulation, which is exactly what depleted summer skin needs. it's not just a scent. it's doing something.

your intention doesn't change how the product works — it changes the experience.

the simple shift that actually works.

if your skin feels rough, uneven, or like nothing is absorbing well lately, start here:

  • exfoliate with the scrub 2–3 times a week — pink himalayan salt, pacific sea salt, avocado and mango butter. it clears the surface so everything after actually gets in.
  • apply oil to damp skin after the shower. not dry. damp. that's when absorption is deepest.
  • finish with butter on the areas that need the most support — arms, legs, knees, heels — before bed.

scrub → oil → butter. clear the surface. feed the skin. support it consistently. not complicated. just consistent.

you don't have to overhaul everything overnight.

sometimes the biggest shift starts with one simple change done consistently. maybe that's finally using oil on damp skin. maybe it's exfoliating regularly again. maybe it's adding extra support to the dry spots before bed.

small things add up.

your skin isn't failing you. it's responding to the season it's in. and once you start supporting it differently, things begin to make a lot more sense.
