what actually causes cellulite (and what most people are doing wrong)
it's not a fat problem. it's a fascia problem. and once you understand that, everything changes.
cellulite isn't what you think it is.
and this is why nothing has worked (yet).
you've probably tried something for it.
a lotion. a tool. maybe one of those "firming" products that promises smoother skin.
and maybe it helped… a little. but it never really changed anything.
here's the part no one really explains —
what the cosmetic industry calls "cellulite" isn't just fat. it's fascia.
fascia is the connective tissue that wraps around your muscles and sits just under your skin. when it's healthy, it's smooth and flexible.
but when it becomes sticky, tight, or dehydrated… it starts to pull and bind. that's what creates that uneven, dimpled texture.
this is something i saw over and over again working with my massage clients.
so the goal isn't to "burn fat" or "tighten skin." it's to help that tissue move again.
if your skin is feeling textured, uneven, or harder to smooth lately… this is exactly where i'd start.

why most scrubs don't work
most scrubs are oily. they slide around, make a mess… and don't actually do much.
ours is intentionally different.
it looks dry in the jar — but once your skin is damp, it forms a paste. that friction matters.
because it:
- increases circulation
- helps break up surface-level adhesions
- removes the layer of dead skin that blocks absorption
this is your starting point. but here's where things really start to change —
daily movement. simple strokes.
you don't need complicated tools. you just need consistency.
inner thighs
gentle upward strokes toward the pelvis. this area tends to hold fluid and stagnation — you're encouraging movement and drainage.
outer thighs
firmer pressure. circular motions, slower strokes. this is where adhesions tend to feel thicker and more stubborn.
glutes
this is where you can go deeper. use your knuckles — slow pressure, cross-fiber strokes. (that means working across the tissue, not just up and down.)
belly
light to moderate pressure. clockwise circles to support digestion and circulation.
i do this move with almost all of my clients to release belly and hip fascial tension: drag the skin in two different directions to help the fascial restrictions open.
this area responds really well to consistent, gentle work.
this is where most people miss the mark.
oil vs. butter — they do different things
oil = movement + maintenance
use it daily on damp skin. it helps increase circulation and keeps everything moving freely. think of this as your baseline support.
butter = deeper work
because it has less slip, you can actually grip the tissue. this is what allows you to:
- go deeper
- use your knuckles
- work across the fibers
- help adhesions start to release
this isn't about attacking your skin. it's about stimulating, nourishing, and keeping that tissue moving.
if you want the full system — the essential routine has all three working together: exfoliate + stimulate, nourish + move, go deeper where needed.
this is the kind of thing that responds to consistency.
not intensity. not trends.
just simple, daily support.
your skin will follow. it just needs the right support.
