what actually changes crepey-looking skin over time?

your products do their job. your hands can do the rest.

every day, women come into the shop and tell me some version of the same thing.

“wow, my skin is changing.”

sometimes they see it first. sometimes they feel it first.

softer. less dry. more comfortable. more like healthy, supported skin again.

i get excited right along with them. but i am never surprised.

i have spent more than 30 years putting my hands on bodies, and the thing that still amazes me is how much living tissue changes when you give it a different experience often enough.

your skin is not a finished object.
it is living tissue.

last week i walked you through the three steps. scrub, oil, butter.

this week, the part that does not fit on a label. your hands.

the products nourish your skin. your hands help you get more out of every application. and the one i reach for when i want to really work an area is the butter.

butter stick set

the one i reach for when an area needs more

butter stick set

one daily stick, one intensive stick. the format that made hands-on care easy to actually keep doing.

what i feel beneath my hands

when tissue has lost some of its healthy bounce, i can usually feel it before anyone says a word.

what my hands notice

  • some areas feel dry and less springy
  • others feel almost sticky, like the skin and the tissue underneath are not sliding freely beside each other
  • healthy tissue moves the way a shar-pei’s does. freely, with ease

i describe it to clients as the difference between shrink wrap and something plump and hydrated. or, when i am being especially scientific, beef jerky.

the point is not that everyone’s skin should feel the same. the point is that tissue is not fixed. i watch it change beneath my hands in every session, and i hear about it every day from women doing this at home.

“i thought my skin was beyond help, but the butter is making a difference in spite of my lack of consistent use. and i really like the lightness of the oil for my face.”

why the way you apply it matters

touch gives you a way to warm the area, feel what is happening under your fingers, and work with the places that need it most.

you already have three chances to do this every week.

your three openings

  • the scrub. that circular motion is your first one. slow it down.
  • the oil. instead of spreading and moving on, rub with intention. let your hands warm the tissue.
  • the butter. this is where the real hands-on work happens.

the butter format i reach for most now lives in a stick, so i can keep one where i actually am. → see the butter stick set

the butter secret i don’t share enough

butter is my secret weapon for the areas that need more attention. it gives my hands the grip and the glide i want when i am working an area intentionally.

i designed it to work exactly like this. it is how i use it in my sessions, and it is something you can do for yourself at home.

i use my palms or my knuckles and i fluff the places asking for help.

where i spend the extra time

  • shoulders
  • upper arms and forearms
  • inner and outer thighs
  • calves
  • feet

instead of one quick swipe, you are warming the area. moving the skin and the tissue beneath it. noticing where things feel soft and free, and where they feel a little stuck.

sometimes your skin does not only need more product.
it needs you to put your hands on it.

what progress actually feels like

because our products contain no water and no fillers, every application is made from the oils, butters, and waxes we chose. there is no watered-down base taking up most of the container.

that is why dry skin can look and feel more moisturized very quickly. that change is real. but it is not the whole transformation.

what usually shifts, and roughly in what order

  • first. the texture feels different under your hands.
  • then. an area starts to feel warmer, softer, freer.
  • then. it simply feels better, without you thinking about it.
  • eventually. you catch the visible difference too.

we are our own worst critics. we see ourselves every day, so gradual change is hard to spot. someone else usually notices first.

and that feels good. hey, it is working. that is a win.

when a customer asks how long it takes, i tell her the truth. Rome wasn’t built in a day. everyone starts at a different place, and what happens next depends on what she actually does.

the honest checklist

  • will you scrub two or three times a week?
  • will you use your oil every day?
  • will you use your butter consistently, and give the needy areas a little extra?

i ask women to give the care 90 days before deciding what it can do. that is not a promise everyone gets the same result. it is a request to be fair.

how long did it take to get here?
let’s be fair about how long it may take to turn it around.

i have used these products for 20 years, and the benefits have built on themselves the whole time.

it is like starting an exercise routine. you feel better before the mirror shows you anything. then you get stronger. your stamina changes. one supportive choice builds on the next.

healthy habits work best when they become part of your actual life. you cannot do them twice, stop, and expect them to keep working without you.

your body responds to what you repeat.

try this with your next butter application

choose one area. not your whole body. one area that feels especially dry, tight, less springy, or needy.

ninety seconds, start to finish

  • swipe on your butter
  • use your palms or your knuckles, not just your fingertips
  • move in slow circles
  • gently lift and fluff the tissue beneath your hands
  • notice what you feel

does it begin to feel warmer? softer? freer?

you do not have to decide today what the final result will be. you are giving living tissue a new experience. and then you are going to give it that experience again.

that is where change begins.
